The roots of Destination Duursma lie in the field of hospitality. The founder, Geesje Duursma, has shaped and defined this concept daily in her own hospitality business since 1997. She experienced firsthand that the concept of Hospitality was in urgent need of renewal. Hospitability is the logical next step.
After over six years of doctoral research on this subject, she was able to complete her studies at the University of Groningen / Campus Fryslân with a dissertation, literally and figuratively drawing a line under the past.
Destination Duursma is now a company entirely focused on Hospitability. As a result, its knowledge and experience immediately transcend the defined boundaries of hospitality.
The new concept of Hospitability is broadly applicable across all sectors of society. It contributes to better mutual understanding, solidarity, the unification of a global society, and accessibility for everyone to actively participate in it.
